Chan Si Jing, often translated as “ Silk Reeling Force “ is an important aspect of the internal application of Chinese martial arts (Tai Ji ) and is somewhat lost in the external styles of Kung Fu because of the “ hardness factor”.
The Silk Reeling Force must be present in all stages of the form. Practice of these exercises or movements will promote circulation and lubricate the bodies “ eighteen joints” ( small balls ).Persistent practice will nurture the internal energy and gradually increase the Qi flow through out the body.
Practice of the exercises will precipitate the “feeling” of the body spiralling and twining. The exercises are an excellent means for improving balance, strength, flexibility, range of motion and co- ordination.
